Summary
This post offers the exceptional opportunity of using interesting new maths and computing to help DFID improve the quality, access and use of information for informing its policies and programmes, and ultimately delivering a better life for poor people around the world.

Acting as an internal consultant, the post holder will get wide exposure to DFID, across the different countries and sectors in which it delivers aid.

Accessible, up-to-date and reliable data is critical for the effective operation and successful delivery of DFID’s aid programmes, providing evidence, monitoring and control and sharing lessons across the organisation. It is also essential for the effective performance of management functions such as planning, organising, leading and decision making. DFID has a strong appetite for better Management Information and Data systems in support of frontline delivery of aid.

We seek a talented data scientist with a combination of formal education and practical experience to help drive this corporate priority across the organisation. This role will help strengthen our technical capability and leadership in Data Science and automated MI.
